The Originals: final de la 1ª temporada / season 1 finale

Ni siquiera sé como empezar. Creo que el final de temporada de The Originals me ha arrancado la vida o algo parecido porque llevo desde ayer que no me lo quito de la cabeza. Hacía mucho, mucho tiempo que no veía un final así de bueno.

I don't even know how to start this post. I believe that The Originals season finale has done something serious to me, to my life or something like that because since I saw it, I can't stop thinking about it. It's been a very long, long time since I last watched a freaking awesome finale as this one.

La serie es nueva, y hace algunos meses supimos que había pasado el corte y que habrá una segunda temporada en otoño de este mismo año. Siendo sincera, me habria enfadado bastante si no hubiera sido así: la historia de los Originales tiene mucho que contar, y si se los "llevaron" a una serie para ellos solitos, por algo será. Ciertamente al principio mi duda era el si la serie valdría la pena o no. Klaus se ha convertido en mi villano favorito en la pequeña pantalla, un personaje increíble desde mi punto de vista. Darle el protagonismo que se merece y que no le podían dar en The Vampire Diaries, fue todo un acierto.
The show arrived this year to our lives and a couple of months ago we knew that it will come back next fall with its second season. Being honest, I'd been mad if it didn't: the Originals story is really a good one, and if they put on a show only for them, that means something, right? At the beginning, I also asked myself 'is it going to be that good?' and I was a bit scared that they screwed the story. Klaus has become my absolutely favorite villain on a tv show, an incredible character from my p.o.v. Giving him the importance he deserves and that he couldn't get on The Vampire Diaries, is the best thing they could ever do.

Si bien es cierto que la serie ha tenido sus mejores y sus peores momentos (por escasos que hayan sido), la linea general ha sido más bien buena. Pocos capítulos han resultado malos, y el resto siempre dejaban con muy buen sabor de boca y deseando que llegara el siguiente.
Hay a personas que empezaron la serie sin saber muy bien de qué iba el tema, otros nos 'mudamos' a New Orleans con Klaus desde Mystic Falls sin dudarlo ni un momento. Para los primeros quizás en ocasiones resultó un poco "pesada" la historia, porque sí que han introducido alguna que otra referencia traída de lo ocurrido en TVD, aunque más bien han sido pocas. Lo mismo puede haber sucedido para los que ya conocíamos más o menos el percal, pero que por h o por b, la serie no les terminó de encajar en la agenda. En cualquiera de los casos, eso no me ha pasado a mi, como creo que queda más que claro jaja
It's true that the show has had ups and downs (very few of those I think), but the general picture shows a very good show and the popularity of it. Only a few episodes have turned out to be a bit boring, the rest of the season always put everyone at the edge of our sits, craving for another episode. 
There were people new to the show since they didn't watch TVD before, and maybe it was a bit difficult to follow the story-line sometimes because of the mentions to what happened in Mystic Falls. There were others (as myself) that moved exactly from that town to New Orleans, happy and willingly to see what happened with the Mikaelson family. But maybe some of those felt that the story was a bit odd anyways. And maybe some of them just didn't like it that much and stopped watching it at some point. In any case, any of that happened to me lmao (and I think it's quite obvious). 

Como iba diciendo, la historia ha tenido algunos desastres y batallas (e incluso el inicio de una guerra), como casi siempre le pasa a Klaus (¡si es que no le entienden!) pero algo se mantuvo presente de principio a fin. La razón por la que Klaus, Elijah y Rebekah decidieron quedarse en New Orleans y luchar por su hogar. La razón por la que Niklaus ya no será el mismo. ¿Y qué es? Su hija.
As I was saying, the story has had some disasters and battles (even the start of a war), like always happens to Klaus (poor thing, nobody understands him!), but there's been something that was there all the time. The reason that made Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah stay in New Orleans and fight for a home. The reason why Klaus is not the same person as before. What is it, you ask? Simple: his daughter.

Justo antes del último capítulo teníamos bastante claro que el infierno se había desatado en N.O. o al menos eso parecía. Hayley estaba a punto de dar a luz y las brujas tenían como misión terminar con el bebé una vez naciese para poder así canalizar todo el poder de sus ancestros y no quedarse sin magia. Así que secuestran a Hayley justo cuando se pone de parto. Y en medio de todo este follón, resulta que la que parecía una frígida asquerosa sin más pues al final es descendiente de una familia de lobos y quiere hacerse con el control de la ciudad, expulsar a los vampiros y manejar el cotarro como mejor le parezca. Por si eso fuera poco, entre los propios vampiros también hay un cristo montado bastante peliagudo: Marcell por un lado, Klaus por el otro. Explosión de una bomba cuando se enfrentan. Pim, pam, pum.
Resumen: que casi me da un ataque. Sólo me quedaba mentalizarme para lo que nos esperaría en el último capítulo de la temporada (¿mentalizarme? ¿prepararme? HA!).
Before the last episode we knew that hell was breakin loose in N.O. or at least it seemed so. Hayley was about to give birth and the witches wanted to end her child's life so they could have their ancesters power (and not run out of magic). In the middle of that mess, a bitch made her appearence and even if she looked like a stupid human with a lot of ego it turned out that she descended from a very important wolf pack family. And the crazy bitch wanted to take over the city to rule as she wished. If that wasn't enough madness, the vampires were at war: Marcell on one hand, Klaus on the other. It felt like a bomb exploding when they faced each other. Kabooooom.
Summing it up: I almost had a heart attack. The only thing I could do was prepare myself to what was comming up (wait, prepare myself? HA!).

Y este martes, pues no solo lloré mientras lo veía, sino que creo que me he quedado marcada de por vida por la puñetera serie y este final (no me llaméis exagerada, que no soy la única).
So, this tuesday night I didn't only almost run out of tears while watching it. No, no. I think that this show has affected me in a way that I'll be remember all my life, goddammit!

Todos los momentos de Klaus con su hija son absoluta y totalmente ÉPICOS. Desde que nace, se nota que algo cambia en él: va a llevarse por delante a quien haga falta y luchará con quien sea por el bienestar de su pequeña, a la que no reciben precisamente con una fiesta. Nada más nacer las brujas, lideradas por su abuela (Esther), ya quieren terminar con ella; su madre tiene que tomar su sangre para poder sobrevivir puesto que la han matado y se encuentra en pleno proceso de transición a híbrido... Y yo mientras sufro en mi casa.
Every single moment of Klaus with his daughter were absolutely EPIC. Since her birth, we can feel that something has changed inside him: he will take down whoever it takes for his baby, whom is not welcome to this world with a party btw. As soon as she is born, the witches take her away at Esther comand (grams of the child by the way... so beautiful ¬¬); her mother has to drink the childs blood to survive the transition into a hybrid... Meanwhile, I die little by little alone in my home. Crying out loud like an idiot.

A lo que iba: Klaus. Increíble se queda muy corto para definir la interpretación de Joseph Morgan. Normalmente ya me deja fatal y me encanta su interpretación, pero es que en este último capítulo se ha lucido. Impresionante de verdad. Todas las miradas que le dedica al bebé, todos los gestos que le sorprenden hasta a él. Esa desesperación por ponerla a salvo, por alejarla del peligro. Ese instinto paternal que nadie pensaba que tendría dentro. Buff buff. Si es que ya lo dijo Caroline: Klaus es capaz de amar, no es una causa perdida.
Sus momentos con Elijah fueron estupendos, y destaco también de éste personaje el hecho de que en ningún momento se paró demasiado a preocuparse por otra cosa más que la niña, igual que Klaus. Si hubo una escena que me partió el alma fue esa conversación entre los dos en el cementerio. Los pelos de punta y la piel de gallina. Madre mía.
So, as I was saying: Klaus. Amazing is not enough to define the performance of Joseph Morgan. I'm used to him making me feel breathless, I do; I really love his performance, but in this last episode he just took it to another freakin level. Incredible. Everytime he was looking at the baby, every gesture that surprised even himself (Klaus). That desperation he felt because he only wanted to put his daughter in a safe place, out of any danger. That paternal instinct Klaus didn't even know he had. Puffffff. Caroline was so right when she said that he is capable of love, he is not a lost cause.
The moments that Elijah and Klaus shared were very special too. And I would like to point the performance of Daniel Gillies as Elijah. The character never lost sight of the most important thing in the whole episode, which was to save the baby, his niece. And if I had to choose a scene that broke my heart into pieces, that would be the one of the talk between the two brothers. It gave me goosebumps, seriously.

(MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS EVERRRRRR!! Your argument is fucking invalid!)

Y Hayley. Ai. Es un personaje que no me había terminado de gustar, no sé por qué. Pero después de esto, la chica me ha ganado. Un pequeño recordatorio: hacer enfadar a una madre que acaba de dar a luz no es buena idea. Mucho menos si resulta ser una loba. ¡Juas! Momentazo el suyo con Genevieve: la bruja poniendo disculpas por lo que había hecho y Hayley, con dos bemoles, 'me importa un pimiento'. Epic win.
Marcell, a pesar de haber sido un personaje principal es cierto que en éste último pasa un poco a un segundo plano. Lo comprendo: todo lo demás que está pasando es bastante más importante que su vendetta contra Klaus (con quien al final termina haciendo las paces por cierto. Lloro).
AND Hayley. OMG. She's a character that I didn't like that much, I don't know why. Until this episode. A little reminder to everyone out there: never piss off a newly mother, even less if she turns to be a wolf. Ha! That scene of her with Genevieve at the cemetery: the witch trying to convince her that she is sorry for what she's done, and Hayley didn't give a single fuck about it. LMAO. Epic win.
Marcell: even if he is a main character stayed a bit in the shadows during all of this. I understand it tbh: everything else that's going on was more important, more than any war against Klaus (and they even make amends at the end! Wii!!).

En resumidas cuentas: tooooooodo el capítulo gira en torno a la niña. A su supervivencia desde el primer minuto de vida. Y me ha encantado verles a todos juntos, luchando por ella. Todos los actores hicieron un increíble trabajo, vuelvo a repetirlo y no me cansaré nunca. Es que ha sido tan, pero tan tan tan tan perfecto que describirlo con palabras se me hace difícil.
So, yes: aaaaaall the episode was about the child. Her survival since her birth. And I loved it! Seeing all of them fighting for her. Everyone in the cast did such a great job, I will repeat that until the end of my days. It was sooooo perfect that even if I try to put it down into words, it wouldn't be enough.

Oh sí, y para terminar de arrancarme el corazón del pecho y ponerse a jugar con él, traen de vuelta a Rebekah en el momento clave. Esas palabras de Klaus hacia ella "a pesar de nuestras diferencias no hay nadie más a quien le confiaría la vida de mi hija que tú". Y los feelings ya todos desparramados bailando samba por encima de la mesa, en el suelo... ¡por favor! ¡Es que qué momentazo!
Oh yes, and to finish me and rip my heart out of my chest, Rebekah was back just in time. In the right and perfect moment. What Klaus tells her was beautiful: "in spite our diferences Rebekah, there's no one I would trust more with my daughter's life". Aaaaaand all the feelings dancing over the table... JFC!! Such a moment!!!

Pero no todo iba a ser bonito: los últimos segundos del capítulo nos dejan un regalito extra que nadie esperaba. Esther y Finn han vuelto. Y algo de sentido tiene: ¿cómo se llama la serie? The Originals, ¿no? Bueno, pues toda la familia está ya reunida aunque la mitad no lo saben. Porque sí, Michael también ha vuelto. Solo falta Kol para que la fiesta esté completa (cosa que no descarto por cierto).
But not everything was gonna be that easy and beautiful, so at the end of the ep. they leave us a little surprise that no one expected: Esther and Finn are back in town. And actually it makes sense: what's the name of the show? The Originals, right? Well then, all the family is finally reunited, although half of them don't know it yet. Because Michael is back too. The only one that's missing at this party is Kol (and I'm not very sure that he won't come back).

Un capitulazo de principio a fin. Un final de temporada increíble y todas mis ganas de que otoño llegue prontito para empezar la segunda temporada cuanto antes, porque no puedo con la intriga de '¡y ahora qué!'.
Fue muy buena idea empezar The Originals, aplaudo a Julie Plec por su trabajo en esta serie (aunque no podía decir lo mismo con TVD, aunque ya hablaré de eso en unos días en su respectiva entrada), y aplaudo mucho y sin parar a los actores: Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Claire Holt... todos. Increíble trabajo. Y sí, tengo que decirlo: estoy a los pies de Joseph Morgan, de su talento, de su interpretación, de todo el entero en sí mismo y como Klaus también. ¡¡Me encantaaaaa!!
Starting this show was one of the best decisions I made last autumn, for sure. The season finale has been perfect and I can't wait for the second season one to arrive as soon as possible! Or I'll probably go nuts!
I would like to thank Julie Plec for her work (even if I don't feel the same about TVD, but I'll talk about that in other entry this week). And I would give the biggest round of applauses to the cast: Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Claire Holt... everyone. Incredible job. And yes, I have to say it: absolutely at Joseph's feet, talent, performance, eeeeverything about him and also about Klaus. I love himmm!!!!

Lo dicho: por ahora The Originals ha sido mi final favorito de este año. Aunque me quedan varios más que ver (ai mi corazón...). A final de semana, después de que me hagan la RCP igual puedo decidirme del todo, ya veremos.
By now I'm pretty sure about the fact that The Originals finale has been my favorite this year. Although I still have a few left (oh damn...). At the end of this week, after someone kindly brings me back to life with a CPR, maybe I'll decide just one. We'll see...
